Exxon Begins Charging Extra For Credit Cards

A reader asked us to post a notice Le'toeles Ha'rabim. Only after he already filled up his tank at the Exxon gas station at Kennedy & Route 9 did he notice that the gas station began charging extra for credit card purchases. Other gas stations in the area-including Valero-have been charging the extra fee for a few months now-usually about a 5-6 cents over the cash fee.

For those of us who are older than 25 (not too many i suppose)this used to be standard practice @ all gas stations and is NOT illegal @ gas stations for some reason.

The trick that makes it legal is that Credit card customers pay full price and you get a discount for paying cash!!!!!!

know your laws ppl said...

its not more expenseve for credit cards they give a "discount" for cash payments and there allowed to do that as per there contract.

The Shell Station across the Road is cheaper with no extra charge for credit cards.

As per hacaros hatov. The owner of Exxon gave lots of money to bmg. So if the prices are higher let it go he's a good person who. Likes the comunity besides the substation makes really good food

I believe that the Valero, (1/4 mile north, in Howell) only charged higher during the "crises season". Last I recall, they no longer charge extra for credit card use.

If the Oilum significantly stops using Exxon, even for a week, trust me, they will revert to the same price for credit.
