Corzine To Gadhafi: Stay Out Of NJ
Gov. Jon Corzine said today that Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi is not welcome in Englewood, or in New Jersey for that matter."Gadhafi is not welcome in New Jersey by anybody's standards,'' Corzine in a statement. "I'm not sure what our legal recourse is, but the fact is that he is not welcome. "I am angry, like every other New Jerseyan and every other American, about the release of Abdel Beset al-Megrahi, the Libyan who murdered 270 Americans, 38 of them from New Jersey. I have no tolerance for it. "Make no mistake, Gadhafi will not have a welcome mat laid out for him by the State of New Jersey, nor by the city of Englewood. It might be better if he stayed in a hotel in New York City." Gadhafi is scheduled to speak at the United Nation in Manhattan next month and his government is refurbishing a Libyan-owned mansion in Englewood. It has been reported Gadhafi plans to stay in a Bedouin tent on the grounds. A request to erect the tent in Manhattan's Central Park was denied by New York City. Newjerseynewsroom.
