My child was one of those lucky children that went to camp simcha special for the past three summers. I can tell you that she is a different person. She has made a lot of friends both campers and staff that keep up with her throught the year. She goes on retreats with them for shabbosos during the winter and they have made her feel like someone that is special. She feels loved by her counselors and other staff members. She is constantly getting calls from friends just to hear how she is doing etc. The medical staff under the direction of Dr. Vann together with all the medics, nurses have done a superb job especially this summer when the swine flu was so rampant. I would like to thank Rabbi Scholar and all the other devoted staff of chailifeline for giving us the opportunity to be able to take part in this unusual camp. Also a great yasher koach to all the volunteers that put in days and nights of hard work in order to make this a most successful camping season.

Unfortunately, I am a recipient of the services that chailifeline offers. This year we have spent quite a few weeks in the hospital. I will try to enumerate some of the chasodim that we have benefited from. Transportation to and from hospitals. With a group of volunteers, they always availed of themselves when needed. Food for the parents in the hospital. Every night a volunteer brought a scrumptious meal for the parent and for shabbos, a box of food was sent. Supper was sent to our house whenever we were not able to prepare it. They provided us with a spare cell phone. There are many other things that cannot be written in a public forum but the most important issue was that our child was able to go to camp simcha special. We were concerned this year that they will not open because of the swine flu but as always with the hadrocha and brochos from gedolei hador together with serious medical professionals, they opened and it was the best summer ever. We had the feeling that the medical staff was very in tuned and on top of the situation, much more than in past years and b"h, they succeeded in having the most amazing season. Dr. Vann and Dr. Rosen along with all the other doctors, medics and nurses did not sleep. It was a 24 hour operation. Whoever did not see this cannot believe it. Rabbi Scholar has special siyata dishmaya because he is a l'shem shomayim yid. Anyone who knows him, will tell you how he lives for chailifeline day and night. All the staff, social workers and volunteers are amazing people. You won't find it any other place.
