JUST IN: Costco Evacuated

JUST IN: The Costco store on Route 70 has just been evacuated after losing power to most of the facility due to a transformer fire at 1900 Route 70-at the Hilton. Lakewood FD has just arrived at the scene. A Lakewood resident who was shopping at Costco just contacted TLS and said that the store is mostly dark and is currently running on back up generators. It is unknown at this time what caused the transformer fire. We will keep you updated with any further details.
U/D 6:43 p.m. Lakewood FD just advised the dispatcher that many businesses along Route 70 are being affected as well.
U/D 6:47 p.m. JCP&L has just arrived.

Does anyone know what happened to the buffs? I didn't see them in a while by accidents

So that's what all the sirens I heard going down Pine St. were, around 6:00 PM!

I was in Home Depot, and the lights were flickering.

I heard the buffs are on an intensive two week training program. They actually sacrificed their attending the "Night out against Crime" so they shouldn't need to lose training time. But rest assured they'll be back. It's possible we'll get videos on TLS quicker after this training program. I'm not positive but that's what I heard from a reliable source.

Lakewood Fire Dept is a Mutual Aid Dept to that location. We are a border close enough and our response is required for such a large building. It is a response agreed upon by the Chiefs of the Brick Fire Dept in the case of a large incident there.
