Any stupid jury who gives in to this should not be picked for jury duty.

The people bringing this lawsuit are missing one small detail in their comparison of processed meat to tobacco - namely that processed meat does not contain an addictive substance such as nicotine.
In other words, once you start smoking, it can be very difficult to stop. No such case exists with hot dogs.

Smoking also affects those around you, so you are inflicting others with secondary smoke. You don't hurt by standers by eating hot dogs. Hot dogs are not addictive and consuming in moderation is no worse than drinking soda (in moderation) or eating all the other junk out there, too numerous to mention. We don't need food police.
What is next Cholent and Kishka?
Eat right, stay fit, die anyway.
