Seat Belt Saves Life Of 17 Year Old
A 17-year-old girl was driving a Honda Civic that swerved off the Garden State Parkway yesterday morning, hit a guardrail, re-entered the Parkway and then flipped over, according to State Police. The teen, whom police did not identify, was taken to Ocean Medical Center in Brick with a small contusion on her forehead and a cut on her knee. The crash occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. near mile marker 90 in the northbound lanes. The car landed upright. State Trooper Steve Napoli responded to the call and reported the car was disabled in the center lane and had to be pushed to the side of the road. After a short closure of the Parkway, the car was towed from the site. Napoli said the driver was wearing a seat belt, which he said likely saved her from further injury. APP
