Joseph Doria, a member of Gov. Corzine's cabinet, resigned today after his home and state office were reportedly raided as part of the sweeping corruption probe. Doria has not been charged in the widespread arrests.
His resignation marks the downfall of a prominent and powerful official whose career included posts as mayor of Bayonne, speaker of the state Assembly and commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs. As the head of DCA, he oversaw a critical state department that manages the state's relationship with towns and is responsible for overseeing and managing the city of Camden, which is under state control. Doria often served as a voice for Corzine in the city. AP
