I don't understand, can someone please explain, why it appears to me that women in the jewish religous community are treated like 2nd class citizens, why can't they be photographed or given credit for what they accomplish? Im not part of your community and just want to be enlighted as to why, so that I may better understand.

I would like to answer the last comment. Woman are not 2nd class citizens at all. In fact, they play such a strong roll in our community, that without them, we'd collaps.
we just dont put up their photographs, simply for modest reasons.
Men are very visually sensitive people, and are affacted strongly by images they see. In today's society it is vurtualy impossible to go anywhere where there no provocotive or lewd pictures. For someone who sees this every day cannot fathom what is wrong with seeing a woman's picture, even when she is modestly dressed, and in a wholesom setting. But the truth of the matter is that our parents and great-grand parents for centuries, have known that when it comes to these sensitive issues, the sky's the limit about how we must protect our integrity!
