Jersey Shore Medical To Unveil $300M Expansion
As Steven Littleson surveyed the finishing touches construction workers were putting on the expansion of Jersey Shore University Medical Center, he was already looking 10 to 20 years down the line at the next expansion. The Neptune Township facility, which started as a small community hospital in Spring Lake in 1904, is preparing to open its doors to the public in the coming weeks on one of the largest single expansions of a medical center in New Jersey. With a new emergency department, a five-story parking garage and a new diagnostic and treatment center, the $300 million addition sets the standard for health care that patients not only demand, but also expect, said Littleson, president of Jersey Shore.
