GOP Boss To Campaign With Christie In NJ

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is coming to New Jersey to campaign with Chris Christie, the former federal prosecutor challenging Gov. Jon Corzine's bid for a second term. Steele and Christie have three public events in South Jersey planned for Monday, as well as private meetings with local GOP candidates. New Jersey and Virginia are the only two states with governor's races in November. Republican State Committee chairman Jay Webber says Steele's visit shows that the Republican party is united and excited about Chris's candidacy. Christie leads Corzine in early polls. Corzine expects a visit from President Barack Obama on Thursday to boost his candidacy. AP
