$62 Million To Ticket You On GSP And Turnpike
It cost $62.6 million for state troopers to patrol the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway last year. That's a 37 percent increase compared with 2004, when a change in accounting practices followed a merger that brought the parkway under the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. Most of the spending covered salary, health, retirement and pension benefits for the estimated 415 troopers. They enforce motor vehicle laws, aid motorists, respond to accidents, track toll cheats and make arrests for lewd behavior at service areas. During the first half of this year, troopers on the turnpike issued nearly 32,000 tickets. Troopers on the parkway issued nearly 26,000 summonses. AP

How about "62 million to enforce safety on the GSP and Turnpike". The ultimate purpose of tickets is for OUR safety. Unfortonately so many people don't obey laws so it provides a very nice source of revenue to the state.
I think they should bring those officers to this town. Maybe poeple will learn how to drive or start driving properly. It is absolutly horrible the way poeple just stop in middle of a narrow street to drop off/ pick up / shmooz while there is a whole line of cars behind u!(Or even one car). Do u hav any respect for others???? Put ur blinker on and pull over!! Then when I beep u look at me like I'm crazy!LEARN HOW TO DRIVE and HAVE RESPECT FOR OTHERS!!
Get off your cell phones while driving or crossing the street.
officer wilson will be there to ticket you
Well in these cases you deserve it!
I don't think it's all about our safety. They may be spending a lot, but, how much do they make in revenue from all those tickets???
