Swine Flu Update From Chief Lawson/Coordinator Of OEM

UPDATE on Swine Flu story. The Lakewood Scoop just spoke with Lakewood Police Chief Rob Lawson, as Coordinator of Lakewood O.E.M (Office of Emergency Management) regarding the recent case in Lakewood, which was posted first here on The Lakewood Scoop earlier today. Aside from the meeting the Chief had with the Ocean County Health Department last week, the Chief had also spoken with Dr. Shanik, Dr. Gittleman and Dr. Peltz today regarding the Flu. The message was a unanimous one: Lakewood residents should not panic. Although there is potential of the Swine Flu spreading, people should go about their business while being vigilant, including washing hands when returning from public places. Unless you or a family member have a severe medical condition, there is no reason to be overly concerned. They also noted, that the Swine Flu can at times be less severe than a standard Flu. We will continue to monitor further developments.

i don't think thats a nice way to talk. the scoop is trying to get the most helpful information and you have to complain? maybe the scoop should also write which kid has it? as for how many people and the school, that was written in the first article earlier

Mr. Scoop I think you should delete the second comment it is disrespectful to the the chief and the vaad. Why there are so many hateful people put there is beyond me.

Oh so I'm hateful? I actualy have a lot of respect for chief lawson. I happen to be a teacher in a local school. I'm just concerned. Telling us not to panic doesn't add much to the story.

Whether or not I agree with what the person has to say, it is everyones Constitutional right to say what they want. That is called FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

If you don't like this right you can move out of this country and live in places like CUBA, or IRAN or Communist Russia... were you don't have that right.

This Blog has some great comments on them, if people don't agree with what you have to say they have a right to voice there oppion.

PS there was line that was cut off of my Original post YTT is the school. This is nothing YTT to be ashamed of, they just have to make sure the rest of the children & staff are safe.

How dare someone right a bad word about our police chief. I have lived in many Jewish communitie.I have never seen a police chief so dedicated to his community let alone to the Jewish community.
True many officers can use learn up from him but that's got nothing to do with him. Go Chief Lawson, you're the best!!

the health officals made a presentation over a week ago as an update state wide if you were not aware. this was reported on this blog as cert being put on call. Many others were in this group and the health officals were just part of an adgenda, It was not specific about the case.
