Last minute adjustments to the timing of the lights were being made so the change did not take effect today, Capt. John Rein said. Police officers will be present at the intersection Wednesday, but they will not direct traffic. Electronic signs have been placed throughout the retail district to help motorists get to their destinations on Route 70. "We want people to learn the new traffic pattern," Rein said.
