I am not closed minded. I am very with it. However, this post has no place on this site. Our yiddishe kinder have better resources than to spend time with the hamon am.

I won't go as far as the last post saying that"the library is not the place to be",although it is possible he's right on that too. However the Lakewood library is DEFINITELY not a place your child should be exposed to for a prolonged period of time. Unfortonately the lowest of the low hang out there. Besides that I have seen people there browsing sites on the internet you do not wantyour child to see.

library is a place to be as long as the child has supervision . there is more filth just walking on clifton av. then being in the library for a purpose with supervision . what does heimishe have anything to do with anything . if its assur its assur for all .

Please take note that the 'filth on clifton - DOES NOT (physically)go home with your child.

As to where the filth from the library CAN and many times (since it's נעשה כהיתר) DOES go home l"a.

When I was a kid I spent alot of time relaxing in the quiet and peaceful library. But that was then. Today the library (at least in Lakewood) is not quiet nor peaceful. The hired guard (yes, in Lakewood they need it) cannot contain the loud arguing, flirting, name calling, racy viewer content, etc.. between what appear to be local public school students. And in general there is (for a large portion of the day) a general unpleasant atmosphere.

[It might be worthwhile to consider housing the internet/computers in a separate building because that seems to be the main attraction for these type patrons. This way the rest of the library can go back to being a library]

On a recent visit, in a less noisy area of the library, I was shocked to see flyers displayed against the window advising where one can seek info on ... - education!!

Additionally one would think that the young patrons would be more considerate not to yap loudly on their cellphones, but that is also sadly not the case.
