13 Charged In Cocaine Ring Bust
Thirteen men, including a cooperating co-defendant in last year's Lakewood barbershop murder trial, have been charged in an indictment alleging they took part in a widespread cocaine distribution network in Lakewood and Toms River.The indictment, handed up by an Ocean County grand jury last week, alleges the distribution network was headed by Sean Crosby, also known as "Bird," of Amherst Road, South Toms River. If convicted of the charge of leading a narcotics trafficking network, Crosby, 26, would face life imprisonment with no possibility for release on parole until he has served 25 years, said Senior Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor William Porter, who presented the case to the grand jury. Crosby and twelve other men also are charged with conspiring to manufacture, distribute or possess more than five ounces of cocaine with the intent to distribute it. One of those defendants is Daniel Thomas, 21, of Clifton Avenue, Lakewood, the cooperating co-defendant in the trial last year of three men accused in a brazen murder in 2006 a Lakewood barbershop.
