New Jersey is overhauling its driver testing system. The Motor Vehicle Commission announced Thursday that Robbinsville-based New Jersey Business Systems has been awarded a contract valued at about $4 million to modernize the system. The project will begin this month and is scheduled for completion in late spring 2010. The written test will utilize new, networked personal computers, allowing for more efficient test management and scheduling. Security measures to prevent cheating will include randomized tests unique to each applicant. Changes to the road test include introduction of GPS tracking to prevent fraud and use of lightweight tablet computers by examiners for automated scoring. APP
