And when the final plate in that series , ZZZ-99Z , is issued sometime next year, the agency will reverse the sequence of letters and numbers on the plates, giving it about 25 million new combinations. The new series, which will begin with A10-AAA and go through Z99-ZZZ, will likely last for about 20 years, officials said.
