Higher Bail For Illegals

The state Supreme Court stood up for justice on Wednesday when it ruled unanimously that bail can be set higher for illegal immigrants facing deportation to keep them from dodging prosecution in the state. Until now, an illegal immigrant accused of a serious crime could make bail, not contest deportation, be across the border and escape prosecution and punishment. That's a loophole that needed to be closed. Now, someone who falls under what is called a "detainer" by Immigration and Customs Enforcement can have their bail reconsidered and raised substantially.
