Chris Christie Opens Double-Digit Lead Vs. Jon Corzine
Republican Chris Christie leads Gov. Jon Corzine by 10 percentage points in New Jersey's race for governor, according to a poll released today. The Quinnipiac University poll of likely voters has the challenger ahead of the Democratic incumbent 50 percent to 40 percent. Christie's lead widens to 24 percentage points among unaffiliated voters. "Christie has hit the magic 50 percent mark, and if he can hold onto that, of course he wins the election," said Clay Richards, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
