Just in. PD and FD are en route to tent city, on Route 88 for reports of a tent on fire. As we post this, the brush fire truck has been requested to respond as well as the Fire Marshal. We will keep you posted with further details as we get them.U/D 12:55 a.m There are reports of other tents which may have caught fire. So far, one patient has been transported by EMS to KMC, for severe burns to the legs, after his propane lamp exploded.
U/D 1:45 a.m. Fire is out. The Fire Department has cleared the scene .

Maybe now they'll get tough on the chevra living there. As bad as we have to feel for them, they still dont belong there.
They're a danger to themselves and to those who live nearby. There ought to be someplace they can pay a minimum rent to, to live in, like public housing. They're messing up public property. It doesn't belong to them, it belongs to everyone.

I feel bad that these people are homeless and something should be done about it, but this is not the answer.
