Strong Police Presence On Lexington

(Photo taken moments ago) The Lakewood Scoop is receiving many emails regarding the Police presence at the corner of Lexington and 2nd Street. We would like to remind our readers that the Click-it-or-ticket campaign is in full force and Police randomly choose different neighborhoods to target each day. There are numerous motorists being pulled over and ticketed for various violations, including expired registrations, seat belt and cell phone violations. The campaign is in effect until May 31st.

If you think the police are targeting Yidden go out of your way to make sure they will be waisting their time! If you drive without a seatbelt and get pulled over it is not because of anti-semitism it is because you need to wear a seatbelt.

You know whats intresting there were so many warnings before this ticket blitz besides for the fact you should always be belted,
BUT PEOPLE STILL DONT GET IT!!!

I always wear a seatbelt so this whole "blitz" doesn't bother me. I happen to see people that drive with children in the front seat(unbuckled!!!). I saw it twice recently. I think those people should keep getting those tickets until they wake up. I do wish the Police would respond to the growing crime in lakewood as aggressively as to this program. Their response time to calls(when it's not to back up another officer)can be horrendous sometimes.

Just do what ur suppose to and u won't get a ticket stop deciding if its right or wrong what they are doing ! U do what's right and u won't get a ticket and u prob deserve it if u got it

It's not as if they all of a sudden sneakily started ticketing people - they gave plenty of warning. They want people to get used to buckling up.

People need to stop complaining and just follow simple traffic laws. Just because members of the Jewish community may not commit violent crimes does not absolve them of other infractions. You can just as easily kill someone with your car as with a gun so slow down, stop at stop signs and red lights, and put seatbelts on (especially the children). For people who spend so much time learning Torah they should try learning a little commonsense, it would go a long way.
