LPD Officer Eric Menck Attacker Found Guilty

An Ocean County jury has found a 33-year-old Lakewood woman guilty of assaulting the very officer she had accused of brutality in 2005. After about two hours of deliberations on Thursday and Friday, the panel convicted Nichole Robinson of Williamsburg Lane of aggravated assault on Lakewood Officer Erick Menck and of resisting arrest. The jury, however, acquitted Robinson of threatening to kill Menck. Following the jury's verdict, Superior Court Judge James Den Uyl found Robinson guilty of the disorderly persons offense of criminal mischief stemming from an incident at a beauty supply store that preceded Menck's attempts to take the assaultive woman into custody at her home on Nov. 20, 2005. Robinson stood trial before Den Uyl, beginning June 4. She had accused Menck of beating her for at least 20 minutes during the arrest at her home, a story she repeated on the witness stand during the trial while being questioned by her attorney, Richard Archer.
