Transformer Explosion Causes Brush Fire And PD Repeaters Down
At approximately 5:00 this afternoon, a transformer blew on Massachusetts Ave. requiring the Fire Department to respond for a brush fire in the area caused by the explosion and from live wires which came down with it. JCP&L was also immediately dispatched to the scene. The explosion, which also caused part of the Police Departments' repeaters to stop working, was restored a few minutes later. The chaos kept the area closed for about an hour.
