PD Cleaning Up Lakewood-More Drug Arrests Made

A search warrant executed at an East County Line Road home, near Kosher Village, yielded the seizure of cocaine, marijuana and cash, Detective Sgt. John Stillwell said. The Lakewood Police Street Crimes Unit, with the Special Response Team, executed the search warrant at the single-family home, where three men were arrested on drug charges, police said. Gerardo Osoreo-Ortiz, 27, of East County Line Road was charged with possession of more than a half-ounce of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of illegal drugs with the intent to distribute in a school zone, Stillwell said. Osoreo-Ortiz's 26-year-old brother, Jose Daniel Ortiz, of the same address, was charged with possession of cocaine on a summons, police said. Severino Dircio Brito, 27, of Ocean Avenue, was charged with possession of cocaine and was issued a summons, police said. Police seized three-quarters of a pound of marijuana, more than a half-ounce of cocaine and $1,700 in cash. Because all three men could not demonstrate legal residency, they were detained at the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, for processing through U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Should Osoreo-Ortiz be cleared by the immigration agency, he would have to post $150,000 bail on the criminal charges from the drug possession, police said. app.
