Update On Suspicious Package At Elmwood Plaza
Last Thursday, we posted a story here, on The Lakewood Scoop about a suspicious package which was found and brought to Elmwood Plaza, where is was picked up by the HAZMAT team. As The Lakewood Scoop reported, it was assumed to be approximately 15 pounds of drugs. The Lakewood Scoop followed up with Lakewood Police Detective Joe Isnardi, who told us, that the package which was found was indeed drugs and alot of it. It was 20 pounds of Marijuana. The street value for that amount is approximately $150,000. Detective Isnardi told The Lakewood Scoop, that using vacant homes for drugs, isn't an uncommon practice for drug dealers. The box, which was shipped via UPS, was traced to another vacant address. UPS, Fed-Ex and USPS are commonly used shipping methods for dealers.
