I suppose that just like when the President makes the State of the Union speech and one of the cabinet remains behind, Reb Yisroel is fulfilling that function in Lakewood.
a chaval of yidisha gelt
Kudos to the anonymous donor that possesses the kavod hatorah and understanding of the Roshei Yeshiva's precious time.
Halevai oif alle baleh batim (and yungeleit) gezugt.
This is major Lakewood news!! Thanks for sharing this kovod haTorah! I think this is a wonderful way to use your money. Giving tzaddikim a way to avoid hardships and long unneccassary lines!
Thanks for sharing!
to the philanthropist who wishes to remain anonymous: if you have money to throw around - there are many families in lakewood (and im sure in other communities) who dont have food to put on their table!! kindly be as generous and send support tomchei shabbos who can tell you first hand accounts of the matziv outside your bubble!!
(ps i am not affiliated at all with TS)
what allows you to complain about this Nediv Lev? How do you know that he doesn't already support TS and many other projects that you are also a beneficiary of??
Both sides of this discussion are right. The R"Y's time is indeed precious. And the needs of our brothers and sisters are indeed urgent. In order to evaluate the priority of one over the other, you need some facts that can put the story in perspective:
Was, perhaps, the jet in New Jersey and had to be flown to Toronto in any case? Then it didn't cost that much.
Was the flight from Newark Airport to Toronto Airport, and thus the R"Y may not have saved that much time anyway? Then it didn't save that much money.
Does the anonymous donor have a daughter in Shidduchim? Then it was a worthwhile investment.
You really need the facts.
He already owns the plane, let him use it for mitzvos.
I am not going to take any sides in this argument...
but kudos the the lakewood scoop, these pictures are heeeeavy raid!!!! Amazing!
geshmake pictures
There is no argument here .this gevir is entitled to do whatever he wants with his money ,think of how the RY saved money for the yeshiva by flying in his jet.to suggest how he should have spend his money is idiocy and immature.
this is an amazing kiddush hashem and kvod hatorah. halevai that others should learn from this. and regarding the idea that this money could have been given to tzedaka,i have no doubt that the roshei hayeshiva and the mashgiach took this into consideration. the toronto philanthropist is a huge baal tzedaka and he felt that it would be a big kovod for the roshei hayeshiva to be brought in by private jet. why are people in such a bashing mode?
The fact that the Roshei Yeshiva were able to avoid a setting where pritzus is inevitable, and instead were able to relax with a sefer, lehavdil, makes it worth every penny.
If the gevir has money sitting around, why not use it to be mechabed these Torah Leaders and allow them to avoid pritzus?
WHY DID U REMOVE THE PICTURES ARE THE ROSHE YESHIVA EMBARRASSED??
THEN THEY SHOULDNT HAVE GONE BY PRIVATE JET
IF THEY WENT THEN THEY FELT THERE ISNT ANYTHING WRONG AND SHOULDNT BE ASHAMED OF THE PICTURES PUT IT BACK LET THE OLAM SEE HOW THE ROSHE YESHIVA TRAVEL
THEY DESERVE IT THEY TREK ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND WORLD RAISING MONEY FOR THE YESHIVA A LITTLE MORE COMFORTABLE RIDE WONT HURT THEIR CAUSE
I saw the pics and the R"Y are for sure not embareassed. It's just that they deserve privacy. Why did they let the photographer take the pics? Loz shoin op!
