Lakewood Man Sentenced To 7 Years For DUI Cocaine

A Lakewood man was sent to prison for seven years Friday for driving while under the influence of cocaine and causing an accident — with his 6-year old daughter in the front seat — which seriously hurt a 78-year-old woman the app reports. Delbert Rosa, 44, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Richard W. English to a seven-year prison term for endangering the welfare of a child and a concurrent four-year prison term for assault by auto. English also handed down 30-day concurrent sentence for driving while intoxicated, and suspended Rosa's drivers license for a year. The accident occurred in the early morning hours of Dec. 5, 2007. Police said Rosa was driving east on Route 33 in Neptune when he crossed over the center line into the oncoming westbound traffic. The Rosa car collided with one driven by a 78-year-old Neptune woman who was seriously hurt. Rosa and his daughter suffered minor injuries.
