Just click HERE to be redirected to their website and you can download it either OTA (Over the air, directly to your phone) or download it to your desktop and then use your application loader which came with your phone, to install it.

BREAKING NEWS Lakewood School and Shul Burglars Arrested!!

JUST IN!! ERRICK DAUGHTEY 21 and ROBERT SUMRALL 20, were arrested on March 6th during the commision of a burglary and theft at the BAIS KAILA SCHOOL FOR GIRLS LOCATED AT 100 BAIS KAILA. Officer John Novak did an outstanding job following the suspect's footprints in the snow for 5 blocks as he raced to catch them, injuring his leg in the process. Both parties were transported to HQ where they were interviewed by DET. D’ELIA and DSGT. RODRIGUEZ.

During the interview, DAUGHTEY admitted to committing the burglary to BAIS KAILA and an additional burglary at 915 NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE. ROBERT SUMRALL did not wish to speak with them. Prior to being transported, to OCJ DET. D’ELIA received information from OCCIU (Ocean County Criminal Investigation Unit), that foot wear impressions obtained at the scene matched that of those collected at a previous burglary to BAIS KAILA. DAUGHTEY indicated that he had committed numerous burglaries and thefts to local Jewish schools but could not remember all of them. He then consented to a “DRIVE AROUND” . During the “DRIVE AROUND” DAUGHTEY admitted to burglarizing the following schools and Shuls: BAIS KAILA, 100 BAIS KAILA DR on 2 occasions, 915 NEW HAMPSHIRE AVENUE on 2 occasions, 410 SO. OBERLIN on 2 occasions, 520 JAMES STREET, 1951 NEW CENTRAL AVE, 1839 NEW CENTRAL AVENUE, the Shul at the corner of CENTRAL CT and ROYAL AVE, 618 CARANETTA, 2 KENT ROAD and PARK TERRACE. Based on the above, DAUGHTEY’S bail was raised by Judge BASEN TO $135,000 for 11 counts of burglary for DAUGHTEY and 2 counts of burglary for SUMRALL.

This Sunday, an informative meeting will be held in the Lakewood Courtyard at 2:30p.m for all those who would like to learn how to file for a $25 dollar tax appeal, which can result in a settlement and major reduction in property taxes. Being that the town is doing a reassessment for 2010, if you were to file with a professional in 2009, besides costing you near $500, any reduction will be either erased next year or could have been gotten anyways. BREAKING NEWS House Totally Engulfed In Flames

VIDEOS and PHOTOS Posted Below. BREAKING NEWS:: TLS is currently on scene of a major structure fire on 330 Joe Parker Rd, in the Gulf View Apartments. The fire started in an oven and quickly spread throughout the entire house. There are numerous fire trucks on location along with Lakewood EMS , Lakewood First Aid and the Police. Photos and Video will be posted soon.

U/D 7:05 p.m. One Firefighter and one civilian have been injured and transported.

U/D 7:15 p.m. The fire has spread to the two attached homes.

U/D 7:30 p.m. Jack Shmidt, CEO of Lakewood based Ocean Management Group, who recently took over management of the development, as reported on The Lakewood Scoop, confirmed to TLS, that the fire originated from the oven and said Thank G-d nobody in the house was injured. A total of 2 firefighters have been treated for injuries and transported to local hospitals. Two of the houses involved, are owned by yidden. Pedestrian Struck On West County Line

BREAKING NEWS:: A pedestrian has just been struck on County Line and Hope Chapel. A Hatzolah member who happened to be in the area called for backup. The girl suffered several fractures, including an open leg fracture and is now being transported by Hatzolah to Jersey Shore Medical Center in stable condition with Monoc Medics aboard.

Hatzolah has just been dispatched to a car which hit a pole on 2nd between Forest Ave and Private Way. Upon their arrival, they requested Lakewood First Aid rig along with a Hatzolah rig. When the units approached the car, they cancelled the rigs due to no patient found.

To get an idea of what goes on in a biscotti manufacturing plant before Purim, all you have to do is get an invitation to the the Lakewood based Howie & Sally Biscotti Co. The Lakewood Scoop went down to the plant today to get an inside look at the Purim preparations (and of course to taste some samples!). We were given a tour of the factory, from the baking, to the decorating and finally to the packaging of hundreds of orders, with various Mishloach Manos packages. The company, under the KCL supervision, which started out a mere 18 months ago by a young Lakewood couple, has quickly grown into a company with over 15 employees. H&S now ships nationwide and has over 60 different flavors of biscottis. Before we left, H&S told us, they will only be accepting purim orders for another 3 days. Avoid GSP Express Lanes During Plow Times

When traveling on the Garden State Parkway, be sure to use the local lanes during plow times. As you can see in the photo taken today, the express lanes are extremely heavy. Unlike the local lanes, the express only has two lanes, making it very difficult to pass the plow truck and thus causing heavy delays. Chaveirim On Overdrive and 4 wheel Drive!

Chaveirim members are working non-stop throughout this storm. Hatzolah Members Stay Up All Night

To many people, Hatzolah looks like a lot of fun, but that fun may turn to a nightmare in snowstorms like these. TLS spoke to some Hatzolah members this morning and asked how they're handling the storm? One member told us " We had members up all night in the garage standing by the ambulances" he said. We know how crucial every second can be, especially in such weather conditions, so to minimize the response time, we take whatever measures necessary, even if it means staying up all night"."B'H, we had a very good response time despite the weather conditions". Change in location for Mir Kabolas Ponim

The location for the Kabolas Ponim for the Mir Yerushalayim, has been changed. It will take place on Tuesday, March 3rdn in the Gratter Building, 100 Park Ave. Between Main and 2nd Street. 7:30p.m will be the Reception Kabolas Ponim followed by the program at 8:00 p.m. The event will be attended by the Rosh Hayeshiva, Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel Shlita.

Lakewood- Child falls out of window.

Hatzolah is currently on the scene on East 9th St for a child who fell from a house window. The patient is being transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in stable condition.

BREAKING NEWS: Major Fire On 7th St

Tens of Firfighters are on location along with the Police and Hatzolah. B'H, the one person who was in the house at the time made it out safely. The entire area has been sealed off. BREAKING NEWS Anthrax Scare In Sterling Forest UPDATED

BREAKING NEWS:: A yungerman from Sterling Forest received a wedding invitation in the mail today, which was clearly tampered with. When he opened it, he discovered the white substance. Fearing it may be anthrax, he quickly called the Police. Police arrived along with HAZMAT to check all who may have come in contact with the powdery substance. Being that the yungerman brought the mail with him to the kollel on Rt 88, where he learns, Police have shut down the kolle area and have not let anyone in or out.

Update 11:50 p.m.
Police have just reopened the kollel after testing the substance and the results returning negative.

MVA Car Overturned On Lexington And Courtney

Photos and Video below. A car driving on Courtney was hit by a van driving on Lexington causing it to flip over and land on its roof. The driver managed to escape the wreckage with only minor head injuries. He was treated on the scene and transported to KMC by Hatzolah.

"the show sold less than 1000 seats out of 5400. Don't bother wasting your tickets on a show that'll get cancelled.....this time by the producers themselves." The Lakewood Scoop does not want to speculate, but according to the above comment which was found on the COLLIVE website regarding The Event, it was blown way out of proportion claiming only a fraction of the tickets were sold. Although the scheduled show is just a few days away and its website claiming it's almost all sold out, you will never know for sure. We don't know if it's a statement from someone who's in the loop or just a non-sense comment, but in this economy, maybe people are cutting back on concerts too. We regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Levin, the wife of the founder of the Hamodia, who was nifteres last evening in Israel. The paper was founded in 1950 by Rabbi Y. L. Levin, son of the Agudath Israel leader Rabbi I.M. Levin of Warsaw and Yerushalyim. Being that she was nifteres in Israel, the levaya was made immediately and some family members from overseas were unable to attend. May the family be comforted among the mourners of Tzion.

Lakewood-Break-in at Yeshivas Ohr Yisochar

Bachurim returning today from their off shabbos were stunned to find all of the locks on the lockers busted. A bachur which was passing by on Motzei Shabbos, noticed a white car parked outside the building. There is no other information available at this time.

Lakewood-Hashgacha Pratis at YTT Expo / School

The Lakewood Scoop has just learned about a break-in at the YTT school after the YTT EXPO event last night. Amazingly, all the income from the EXPO which is usually kept in the school safe in the office was not placed there after this years event in Lake Terrace. The safe from the office was found this morning moved outside of the office and broken.

Lakewood-Fire on Forest Drive. UPDATED

Videos and Photos below. The Lakewood FD are currently on location of a working fire on Forest Drive off of Miller. The fire started when widow Police officer and former deputy chief Wayne LeCompte, turned on a lamp and returned to find the room engulfed in flames. There was live ammunition exploding in the house in the moments following , which caused a delay in battling the fire. TLS does not know the condition of the cats which were in the residence at the time of the fire.

Lakewood-Frank David of the Lakewood Fire Department Dies.

Video and pictures of the funeral of Frank David (Efrayim Ben Yitchok). He was with the Eatontown Fire Dept for 20 years and 5 years with the Lakewood Fire Dept. He was 71. In attendance, were members of the Fire and Police Department, including Sargent Frank Work, as well as Committeeman and Deputy Mayor Steve Langert. Frank, was a crossing guard as well. He will be dearly missed.

Lakewood-Rabbi Abraham Twerski coming to town.

Today, Sunday February 22nd, at 7:00 p.m, world famous Rabbi Abraham Twerski will be giving a lecture on Parenting Challenges Of The 21st Century at the Lakewood Courtyard . Rabbi Twerski is the founder and medical director emeritus of Gateway Rehabilitation Center and the author of over 50 self-help books including a collaboration with the late Charles Schulz, creator of the Peanuts Characters.

Admission is $18 per person and $30 per couple. Proceeds of the event will benefit the Yeshivas Toras Emes Building Campaign. The event has been sponsored by Krug Orthodontics.

Lakewood-Violence on Kennedy Blvd. UPDATED

TLS has just been notified of numerous Police officers on the scene of a large fight on Kennedy Blvd and Cederview area. Police have made a few arrests. No other information is available at this time.

U/D Sources tell The Lakewood Scoop, the fight began at the club at Laurelwood and Kennedy area, when people who purchased tickets at the club noticed how full it was and wanted a refund. Numerous Police officers from surrounding townships responded to the brawl. Including officers of the Jackson Police, Howell, Dover, Toms River and Lakewood. Two were arrested. Rumors about a Police Officer being stabbed are false.

Lakewood-BREAKING NEWS-BMG to open Boys and Girls School next year

First Report:::After much deliberation, BMG has decided to open its own Boys and Girls Elementary school this coming school year. The Cheder, now run by Rabbi Baruch Manes, located at the corner of Madison and 9th Street, which is owned by BMG, will become the new location for the BMG boys school. The Cheder and the BMG girls school locations, are yet to be determined. Bais Faiga will remain with R' Baruch Manes and will be taking his cheder school children with him. TLS will keep you updated with any further details as they emerge.

TLS has received the following information from various sources.

A few people from all sides have been working around the clock on the various issues in the Cheder and Bais Faiga for the past few weeks. Proposed solutions include, a total change in the administration, to strong oversight by an appointed Vaad HaCheder, to splitting the boys from the girls schools or creating two new schools.

There were many ideas which did not work out. There is a strong option on the table being worked on right now...which near all see as the best solution...

TLS will continue to monitor this breaking story.

TLS has just received word about an armed robbery at the Investors Savings Bank on Route 70. Police have just arrived on location but the suspect has fled. TLS will bring you any updates as they. become available.

TLS just spoke with Police Chief Rob Lawson, who said, based on the information they have, they believe this is the same white middle aged male, who robbed the Brick bank a few weeks ago. The suspect got away with approximately $1,300 of cash. Nobody was harmed in the robbery.

Hatzolah has just transported one adult to KMC with injuries from a fire on Cannonball Street. The patient had mutiple oil burns to the face and legs. All other members of the family were evacuated with no injuries.

Lakewood-ridding the town of drug dealers one by one

Good news for the Raintree area homeowners! The Golf View development on Joe Parker near Rabbi Rosenblatt's Yeshiva will finally be cleaned up once and for all. The management of over 70 homes has been taken over by Ocean Group Management of Lakewood NJ. TLS spoke to the owner of Ocean Management Group Mr. Shmidt, who said, that as of now, there have already been a few drug dealers evicted and more are pending eviction. The management group is working very closely with the Township as well as with the Police Department and both parties are extremely satisfied thus far with the results.

This is also good news for future home buyers in the development which will be going up across the street of the Golf View homes, in the near future.

Shooting on East 7th & Nolan/Park area

5:36 a.m. this morning, The LPD responded to a call on 7th Street for shots fired. TLS Spoke to Chief Rob Lawson who said, that it was a drive-by shooting and several shots were fired. One bullet casing was found in a window frame of a nearby house and the rest were found on the road. There was nobody injured in the incident.

Lakewood- Choson and Kallah miss their own Sheva Brachos

Sheva Brachos was a very bittersweet simcha for the Bergman and Kurtz families this evening, after the Choson and kallah, coming from Toronto to Lakewood today, for their last Sheva Brachos, never made it. After the B&K wedding last week in Lakewood, the family went to Toronto for Shabbos Sheva Brachos. Although the kallah, from Toronto has a dual citizenship, because she had just married, the border control refused to let her through with just her Canadian passport. Her papers proving her US citizenship, was thought to have been left in the couple's Lakewood apartment, but could not be found.

Lakewood-Fire leaves one person dead at Tent City

TLS was just on scene of a deadly fire at Tent City in Lakewood. The fire occurred at about 6:45 p.m this evening. LFD and LPD responded and requested many backup units due the lack of lighting in the homeless shelter tent area. At approximately 7:10 p.m they discovered one DOA (Dead On Arrival). The CIU and medical examiners office arrived and closed off the entire perimeter, which started at the Minyan Shelanu area and stretched deep into the woods. TLS spoke to the officials on scene and being that it is an ongoing crime scene investigation, no other information is available at this time.

Lakewood OEM (Office Emergency Management) demonstrated today, for Chaveirim and EMS members, how to pull someone out of icy waters. Just last week, TLS reported about children who were playing on a frozen pond which started cracking and were rescued by Chaveirim members.

Major Chutzpah of new 'Energyz' gym in Lakewood

Well, if you were thinking about joining the new Energyz (Former Trim Gym) in Lakewood, located in the Shop Rite plaza, you may just want to re-think it. TLS just spoke to someone who went to the former trim gym, which was just purchased by a goy along with the Kosher Gym of Flatbush, to sign up with them. This is what he told us:

First, if you would like to cancel a registration, you would have to send your letter via registered mail to some place in Utah.

2)If, for some reason, you dispute a charge, first thing is, you will be charged a "Research Processing Fee" of a whopping $150 dollars, just for having the 'nerve' to dispute a charge!

3) And the biggest Chutzpah is, after they removed the pool, wanting to make two separate sections, a frum disabled woman from Lakewood told them how much she needed the pool and how much she'll miss it, their answer was " We're here to make money, not to help people".

If you still want to join a gym with such obnoxious people, go ahead. In my humble opinion, we should let them know how unacceptable their behavior and policies are.

Bikur Cholim saftey statues all around town.

They started off around Kol Shimshon area, Yeshiva....now these things are all over the place. We gotta give a big thanks to Bikur Cholim of Lakewood for making this project happen. It's unfortunate that it had to take more than one life until it got underway, but better late than never.

Lakewood-Van warming up, stolen.

7:30 a.m, Chaveirim received a call to please be on the lookout for a tan/light brown 2000 Sienna with license plate beginning with JPS, which was stolen from the Marc Dr. area. The owner had turned on his van to warm it up, but when he came back out, it was gone. Anyone with information is asked to call PD immediately. We urge people to use caution, especially on the colder days when burglars are on the lookout for situations like these.

Chinuch Atzmaei to hold emergency meeting in Lakewood

Due to the recent cutback on bulletproof busing for approximately 10,000 Chinuch Atmaei children in Israel, they will be holding an emergency meeting this coming Motzei Shabbos at 9:30 in Bais Faiga.

There has just been a MVA on Madison and 8th. Hatzolah is on the scene and has just notified the dispatcher that a red car which was involved, had fled the scene and is headed down Rt 9 South.

More Shabbos Break-ins in Lakewood.

Friday night was once again not a pretty site for many homeowners in the East 7th area. There were approximately five break-ins in just a single development.TLS spoke to a homeowner which said " I didn't even realize I was burglarized until after Shabbos". "When I went into my study and noticed my wallet, blackberry, watch, wifes pocketbook and keys were all missing, I knew I was a victim" he told us.

The Lakewood Scoop also spoke to Police Officer Michael Young who responded to the calls. He told TLS, that it seems like it was the same group or individual who targeted all these houses, being that it was the same window broken into, in each house. The lock from that specific window was broken and they just slipped in without being detected.

TLS has also learned, that in one house, a young girl heard some noise while walking in the hallway upstairs-and seems like the burglar had also heard something, and fled.

Patrols and have been stepped up in the area.

Many officials took part in the ribbon cutting ceremony a few hours ago, of the new Lexington Tower in Lakewood, located on Second Street between Lexington and Clifton. The Tower, is a Class A office building including tenants like First Meridian Mortgage (Branch manager Jack Buchler -732-905-9600) The Voice Of Lakewood (732-901-5746) , Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein's management company (who manages the property) Imperial Real Estate (Asher Zelig Brodt) just to name a few.

Mayor Bob Singer, Freeholder Little, Committeeman Ray Coles, Police Chief Rob Lawson, Meir Lichtenstein, Menashe Miller are just some of the officials who attended the event.

Urgent notice from the Tomchei Tzedaka of Lakewood

An individual came collecting today here in Lakewood with his gabai. He claimed to be the Av Beis Din from Netanya and that he has a bunch of Kollelim that he runs. When someone gave the gabai an $18 check this Rebbe starting screaming at him for taking it, said he is too choshuv for $18 and gave it back.

We are quite sure that this is Shlomo Yechezkel from Netanya, an individual to whom we issued an ishur in 2007 based on a reference from someone here in Lakewood. Subsequently, our Israeli contacts cast very serious doubt on his story. In addition, his claims to be a Mikubal and Poel Yeshoes is a cause of laughter to our Israeli counterparts.

Please do not give this person any money based on his old Tomchei Tzedakos ishur. Furthermore, if you have any further information about him, please let us know as soon as possible. He is very choshuv-looking, wears a down hat and has a long white beard.

Hatzolah, PD and Chaveirim have just rescued a few children from a pond on Caldwell, after the pond they were playing on started cracking.All the children are B'H ok.

MVA's In Lakewood in the last couple hours/PED Killed

There were quite a bit of MVA's in Lakewood today including one pedestrian struck and killed.

There was an MVA @ 10th & Madison (Hit n run), Madison and Shop Rite plaza area, River & Spruce, Pedestrian struck & killed on River Ave @ Kimball hopital.Medevac was called but was unable to fly due to weather conditions. Patient died shortly afterwards.

As we post, there was just another MVA on Kennedy & Rt 9.
